Trust’s Third Annual Report charts further progress

The Northumberland Archives Trust’s third Annual Report, which has recently been published, shows further progress in achieving the Trust’s aim of assisting the Northumberland Archive Service to preserve, protect and promote access to the county’s rich archival inheritance. Covering the period April 2022- March 2023, the Report gives details of projects completed or in progress with the support of the Trust and of new projects in preparation as the year came to an end.

Commenting on the Report, the Trust’s Chair, Sir Philip Mawer, said:

“The Northumberland Archive Service is one of the County’s greatest unsung assets. The collections of manuscripts, photographs and other records it stores and curates not only contain the stories of Northumberland’s people past and present but provide inspiration for future generations too. Thanks to the efforts of its supporters and generous donors, the past year has seen the Northumberland Archives Trust achieve further success in pursuing its aim of raising significant funds to enable these stories to become accessible to all.”
